As a past president, Giselle Huberman has been an inspiring leader, generous host, and driving force in the James Renwick Alliance. During her tenure as president, she conceived and supported the first Chrysalis Award for an emerging artist, advocated enthusiastically for the JRA’s Renwick Gallery renovation donation - resulting in the naming of a gallery for the James Renwick Alliance - and motivated craft acquisitions by JRA members for the Renwick collection. She is legendary for her energy and hospitality in hosting JRA events, including (together with her congenial husband Ben at their Georgetown, DC and Potomac, MD residences) board and committee meetings as well as the famous New Year’s party.
"When Gigi took over as president, the JRA was reinvigorated with renewed energy to promote craft. All of us looked forward to every event, every committee meeting and board session." - Tim Tate, Member of the JRA Board
